Please support this petition for lower speed limits on the A286 to make cycling safer

The A286 has a history of high fatalities and injuries. It is particularly dangerous where there are many bends and a high 50 MPH speed limit.

Sarah Sharp, who founded ChiCycle more than a decade ago, is meeting with the Area Highways Manager on site to support the Traffic Regulation Orders that the parishes along the road want to put in.

The petition is in support the reduction in speed limit on the bends on the A286 near the Cider House Kitchen

If enough people sign (over 100) it will increase the likelihood that a lower and safer speed limit will be issued on this dangerous stretch of road.

Harry Quenault who started the petition explains:

Apuldram Parish Meeting is looking to reduce the speed limit along the A286. The bends are located on the edge of Apuldram and have seen various dangerous collisions and incidents. Although the straight part of the road is listed at 40 MPH the bends are increased to 50 MPH. As this is the most dangerous part of the road, especially for cyclists we would look to scrap this speed limit increase and to keep the 40 MPH limit.
